Cultivating a brand world with innovation at its core
The Experimental Series is one of the most disruptive and ground-breaking collections of whisky in the category, and the sharpest expression of Glenfiddich’s maverick spirit. Following the previous four, we were asked to create a brand world and launch assets for the fifth release, arguably the most experimental yet.
Orchard Experiment is the first ever single malt Scotch whisky finished in Somerset Pomona Spirit Casks, an apple digestif made from a blend of fresh, farm-pressed apple juice and apple cider brandy.
It was complemented by a cinematic 3-minute film, showing the journey from sun-dappled Somerset orchard to being ‘ripened’ or finished in Scotland. This was used on TV in the UK and globally on digital, with cut-downs for owned social and e-commerce channels.
For the key visuals, apples and other flavour cues were sliced ultra-thin, almost translucent, and backlit to give them a refreshing, clean and bright aesthetic. The vibrant orchard green stag icon from the bottle creates disruption and a more experimental feel.
